I am a visual artist living and working in Jersey City, USA. I received a BFA in Digital Media Design in Hongik University in 2018. In undergraduate, I studied Ux / Ui, Interaction Design, and Motion Graphics.
My early 20s have always been hip-hop music and graffiti, as a part of the hip-hop elements as an art form. It's a cultural expression and my forever inspiration. Straightforward and aggressive. This is also related to my choice of materials.
Spray paint is a powerful medium to express my theme, rebellion. I use a spray to maximize the texture and intensity of color. And acrylic paints for the speed of drying time are the best for animative visual depiction. Using Projection Mapping invites viewers to immersive experiences. It brings dynamic movement and highlights the lighting effect in 2D works. Also, there is no limitation in size which allows me to think outside of the canvas.
Eyes are more eloquent than lips. Eyes have become a symbol in my work as a representation of emotion. They convey agony, desires, curiosity, and ignorance. I adopted one of the animation techniques, Deformer, which exaggerates the specific part.
The figures manifest part of my alter ego, reflecting my desire and hope for things I couldn't express in reality. In other words, they are vicarious satisfaction for my personality or experience.
